Call for papers for issue 1
Acta Baltica Historiae et Philosophiae Scientiarum
Journal Description:
The Estonian Association of the History and Philosophy of Science was founded in 1967 with the aim of promoting the study of the history of science with the focus on the Baltic Sea region in general and Estonia in particular as well as the philosophy of science in the broad sense.
The Association has decided to launch a peer-reviewed, open-access journal, entitled Acta Baltica Historiae et Philosophiae Scientiarum (ISSN 2228-2009 (print); ISSN 2228-2017 (online)). It will appear two times a year and will publish texts in English. The main publication criterion will be scientific excellence, evaluated according to the criteria in effect in international journals. Beside original research papers, book reviews, conference overviews as well as other short communications will be considered for publication. We believe this will make the journal more dynamic and more attractive. The journal will be advised by a prestigious international Editorial Board, composed of philosophers and historians of science.
How to submit:
No length limit is imposed however the editors can refuse papers judged too long. No element of style or format is imposed for a first submission, except that the manuscript must be anonymous. Therefore the author must avoid any reference that could help the two referees to identify her. If the paper is accepted, the author will have to provide a version of the paper in the style required by the editors.
Until the journal's website is launched, all submissions (including an abstract) must be sent, as an attached PDF file, to Mait Talts at mait.talts@tseba.ttu.ee
The deadline for submissions for the first issue is October 1, 2012.
